Garden Sculpture Exhibition

Garden Sculpture Exhibition at Pashley Manor

Garden Sculpture Exhibition at Pashley Manor

‘Secrets’ by John Brown.

As usual  I am exhibiting my work at the annual garden sculpture exhibition at Pashley Manor, including  ‘Secrets’ in bronze resin, together with several other works.   This beautiful garden is the perfect venue to see garden sculpture of all types, and begins on l April until 30 September.  Opening Times are Tuesdays to Saturdays, and Bank Holiday Mondays 10am – 5pm.

If you are looking for a sculpture for your garden, this is the ideal place to see a wide selection of  unique pieces  displayed in a setting which complements the work.  Although Pashley Manor is a large garden, the work shown will also give you an idea of how an individual piece would look in your own space, whether  you have a small suburban patio, a roof garden or a more substantial area.

In addition  to the garden sculpture exhibition there is a special show of interior sculptures entitled ‘Sculpture in Particular’ which runs from the 26 May until 3 June in which I am also exhibiting smaller pieces in stone and bronze resin. This exhibition is held in the Great Hall of Pashley Manor and is not normally open to the public.

In late April/early May Pashley Manor’s spectacular Tulip Festival sees the garden carpeted with over 30,000 tulips.   There is also at Rose Week from 9 -17 June and Dahlia Days in early September.

This Garden Sculpture Exhibition at Pashley Manor is well worth a visit for a day out, and they also serve delicious lunches and teas!

The Optimist painting by John Brown

Affordable Art Fair, Battersea 2017 takes place from 9th to 12th March and is one of my favourite occasions.   I am exhibiting my sculpture as usual with the Linda Blackstone Gallery .  This year I am showing interior stone carvings as usual, together with two new pieces of mixed media sculpture, combining soapstone with additions of flat forms making up the design.   I am also showing a small group of colourful semi-abstract acrylic paintings, based on interiors with my sculpture as a focal point.

Affordable Art Fair Battersea  is always an interesting and exciting venue to visit.   There are dozens of galleries showing contemporary art of all types and subjects.   Although it can be overwhelming in size, it is a very accessible place, with friendly and welcoming gallery owners who are very happy to talk about the paintings and sculpture, as well as their artists.  There are works of art to suit all tastes and budgets.

There are workshops and talks each day, focussing on all aspects of art, and a charity private view on Wednesday 8th March in aid of Barnardos.  And you can always stop for a bite to eat or drink.   Do go and have a lovely day.
