Commissioning Sculpture
‘Aspirations, a commissioned sculpture for Leconfield House, Curzon Street, London
Commissioning Sculpture
I am happy to create a sculpture for a special place in your home, garden or workplace or for your special occasion, such as a birthday, wedding or anniversary. This gives you the opportunity to own a unique work designed specifically to your requirements. I am pleased to work with interior and garden designers, as well as architects.
The details below will give you confidence in commissioning a sculpture work as until Stage Three you will have committed yourself to no expense, and by that time the maquette (working model) will show you a clear three-dimensional impression of the completed work.
For a listing of previous corporate and public commissions take a look at the Our Clients Page. Besides these there are very many private clients who have my sculptures designed for a particular place in their home or garden.
Stage One: It is essential to set up a meeting with the client which will give me the opportunity to show portfolios of current and previous work. We can then discuss your requirements and your budget, from which I can formulate some ideas to work on.
Stage Two: I would then visit the proposed site, preferably with the client, to allow me to appreciate the surroundings and scale. This will help me to refine my plans for the commission and satisfy the client that their wishes are being considered.
Stage Three: I would prepare a maquette of the proposed work , together with a costing and schedule for completion. A 50% deposit is required on acceptance of the proposal.
Stage Four: Final payment on delivery.
